A Smile Makeover in Jackson Heights, Planned Around You
What a Smile Makeover Can Include at Our Office
A smile makeover at Queens Central Dental combines treatments like whitening, bonding, veneers, and crowns into one plan for your whole smile. Order matters. That’s because porcelain and composite don’t change shade once they’re placed.
Small flaws get small fixes. Composite bonding, a tooth-colored resin, can cover a chip, while tooth contouring smooths an edge by removing a little enamel. Porcelain veneers, thin ceramic shells, cover the front of teeth that need more change.
Who Gets a Smile Makeover, and What Starts It
Our smile makeover patients usually aren’t dealing with one big problem, just several small ones that add up every time they look in the mirror. A chip, a gap, a stain. Each one alone seems minor, but together they keep you from smiling in photos.
The big worry is looking fake. Some people have seen veneers that look too white or too big, and others worry about filing down healthy teeth they can’t get back. Both are fair concerns, and both shape the plan.
Why Plan a Smile Makeover With Dr. Ilya Ames
Every smile makeover at Queens Central Dental is planned and done by Dr. Ilya Ames, whose work centers on cosmetic dentistry and implants. He has practiced for over 20 years. He earned his DDS at SUNY Buffalo and trained at Queens Hospital Center.
Nothing gets done without your say. You choose the shape and shade with him before any veneer or crown is made, and the full cost is on the table first. Results vary, and he’ll tell you what’s realistic.
When to Start So Whitening and Shade Matching Line Up
Smile makeover planning at our Jackson Heights office starts with a cosmetic consultation, where Dr. Ames hears what bothers you and checks your teeth. Each treatment is priced before it starts.
Most makeovers have a deadline, like a wedding or a milestone birthday. Start early. Whitening comes before bonding or veneers are shade-matched, so the whole plan works backwards from your big date.
Serving Jackson Heights and Nearby Queens Neighborhoods
Jackson Heights is home base for our smile makeover work, and we cover neighborhoods within about five miles of the office. East Elmhurst sits right next door.
Catch the 7 train at the 74th Street station or shop along Roosevelt Avenue? Then this is your neighborhood too. Woodside, Elmhurst, and Astoria are close enough that every visit a smile makeover takes stays a short trip.

FAQs
A smile makeover is a plan that combines two or more cosmetic treatments, such as whitening, bonding, veneers, crowns, or contouring, to change how your whole smile looks. The treatments happen in a set order, so the colors and shapes match when everything is finished.
How long a smile makeover takes depends on which treatments are in the plan. Whitening or bonding on their own can move quickly, while veneers and crowns take more visits because each one is custom-made. A dentist can give you a timeline once your teeth have been checked.
We price a smile makeover by the treatments in your plan, so the total depends on how many teeth are involved and what each one calls for. You see the cost of every step before anything starts. Nothing is made or scheduled until you say yes.
Our office checks your plan with you, but insurance usually doesn’t cover smile makeovers, since cosmetic work isn’t considered medically necessary. Some pieces, like a crown on a broken tooth, may be covered in part. We work with PPO plans from Delta Dental, MetLife, Aetna, Cigna, Guardian, and others.
A smile makeover can look natural when the shape and shade are matched to your face and the teeth around them. Results vary from person to person. Asking questions and choosing the shade with your dentist are the simplest ways to avoid a look that feels too white or too uniform.
